Overview

The “Fear Exhibition” (Kyofu Ten) arrives in Osaka for a limited engagement in early 2026, offering a psychological journey into the nature of human dread. Held at the Knowledge Capital Event Lab within the Grand Front Osaka complex, this exhibition blends immersive storytelling, sensory triggers, and artistic installations to explore different facets of fear. Unlike a standard haunted house, this experience focuses on the “science” and “art” of the uncanny, making it a must-visit for those interested in psychological thrillers and immersive design.

The Osaka exhibition is specifically designed to be an atmospheric experience, with a typical viewing time of roughly 90 minutes. Visitors will navigate through various “zones” that target different phobias and psychological discomforts, all within the modern, underground setting of the North Building. Given its popularity in other cities, the Osaka run is expected to draw significant crowds, particularly during the spring holiday season.

Why Attend

  • Explore a unique blend of psychological horror and interactive art in one of Osaka’s most sophisticated event spaces, located directly connected to Osaka/Umeda Station.
  • Test your limits through carefully crafted sensory environments that use light, sound, and shadow to evoke the primal instinct of fear.
  • Enjoy a long-form experience with a 90-minute suggested viewing time, providing a much deeper immersion than typical pop-up attractions or quick-walkthrough haunted houses.
  • Visit a convenient urban location that allows you to easily combine the exhibition with world-class dining and shopping at Grand Front Osaka.

Faqs

Are there specific days when the Weekday ticket cannot be used for the exhibition?

Weekday tickets are strictly invalid on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Additionally, they cannot be used during the busy “Golden Week” period, specifically April 30th, May 1st, and May 6th, which are treated as holiday peak times.

What are the daily operating hours and the latest time I can enter the venue?

The exhibition is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to accommodate both morning visitors and after-work crowds. Please be aware that the final admission is permitted only until 7:00 p.m., exactly 30 minutes before the doors close.

Is the Fear Exhibition suitable for younger children or elementary school students?

Elementary school students and older are permitted and will be charged the standard admission fee. However, because the content is designed to evoke fear and psychological discomfort, parents should exercise discretion regarding their child’s sensitivity to scary themes.

What happens if the venue becomes overcrowded on the day of my visit?

If the Knowledge Capital Event Lab reaches capacity, a waiting system will be implemented to ensure the safety and quality of the experience. Visitors are kindly asked to follow staff instructions and avoid congregating or waiting directly in front of the venue entrance.

Can I get a refund or change my date if my travel plans to Osaka change?

Per the strict ticketing policy of the organizers, tickets for this exhibition are non-refundable and cannot be reissued or used for re-admission once scanned. Furthermore, the resale of these tickets is strictly prohibited to ensure fair access for all visitors.
