Full Description

Perfect for travelers with limited time, this 2 to 3-hour guided walking tour brings you face to face with the magic of Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Japan’s most photographed and spiritually significant sites.

Located in southern Kyoto, Fushimi Inari is dedicated to Inari, the deity of agriculture, rice, and prosperity, with foxes symbolizing his messengers. You’ll start at the base, passing the main shrine and smaller altars before entering the legendary path of thousands of vermillion torii gates that wind through the forested hills of Mount Inari.

Your expert guide will share the shrine’s rich history, from ancient rituals to modern pilgrimages, as well as local legends and symbolism behind the fox statues and inscriptions on the gates.
