Departing from Nagoya, this full-day guided tour brings you deep into Gifu Prefecture to explore towns that have preserved the essence of the Edo period.
Gujo Hachiman
Your first stop is the picturesque Gujo Hachiman, a town known for its crystal-clear waterways and historic street layout. Stroll through streets lined with traditional row houses and feel transported back in time.
Hida Takayama
Next, travel to Hida Takayama, a castle town with a rich Edo-period heritage. Explore its merchant district, shop for traditional Hida handicrafts and candies, and sample regional gourmet treats in a setting that blends history with small-town charm.
Shirakawa-go
Finally, visit Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its gassho-zukuri farmhouses, named for their steep, prayer-hands shaped roofs. These homes were designed to withstand heavy snow and are surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
After taking in these unique cultural landmarks, the tour concludes with a return trip to Nagoya.
