Step back in time with a guided walk through Hamarikyu Gardens, a traditional Japanese landscape garden originally built in the Edo period. This peaceful retreat, nestled in the heart of Tokyo, features classic Karesansui (dry landscape) and Kaiyushiki (circular style) garden elements, as well as seasonal flora that change throughout the year.
Your local guide will take you through the garden’s most scenic areas, providing insight into the cultural significance and design philosophy behind its layout. Learn how Japanese gardens are carefully planned to evoke harmony between nature, space, and viewer.
Following the walk, unwind in a tea house located within the garden. Here, you’ll enjoy matcha green tea paired with traditional wagashi (Japanese sweets), all while taking in a tranquil view of the garden.
