Izu Omuroyama is famously known as the inspiration for the meteorite crater in Makoto Shinkai’s animated film Your Name. The crater is beautifully covered with silver grass, resembling a slice of matcha cake from afar. A scenic cable car connects the mountain’s base to its summit, offering an effortless ascent. From the top, enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the Izu Plateau and Sagami Bay.

Next, explore Jogasaki Coast, one of Ito’s eight scenic spots. This dramatic coastline features towering cliffs reaching tens of meters high, stretching over 9 kilometers. Walk along the lush native forest terrace adjacent to the rocky shore, where crashing waves create a powerful and mesmerizing scene. The highlight is the suspension bridge hanging 23 meters above the sea — swaying gently, offering thrilling and romantic views over the cliffs and the ocean.
