Full Description
Located just a short walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Studio Shiki is the only place in Kyoto offering a tea ceremony experience while dressed as a Maiko, Samurai, or in a Kimono/Yukata.
Start by getting dressed at Studio Shiki with help from experienced stylists. Your outfit includes everything: kimono/yukata, undergarments, obi belt, bag, and sandals. From June 1st to September 15th, yukata are provided due to the summer heat.
After changing, walk three minutes to Chanoyu Akebonotei, where you’ll participate in a hands-on tea ceremony — grinding fresh matcha with a stone mill and savoring seasonal sweets.
This experience is suitable for individuals, couples, friends, and families (up to 6 participants, children aged 5+). After the ceremony, continue exploring the historical neighborhood in your outfit, with landmarks like Yasaka Pagoda, Ninenzaka, Kodaiji, and Yasaka Shrine all nearby.
