Step into the world of Japanese tradition with this immersive Matcha and Kimono Experience near Shinjuku. Dress in a stylish, easy-to-wear kimono before learning the art and philosophy behind matcha, teaism, and the Japanese tea ceremony. Compare real vs. fake matcha and master the techniques to prepare your own matcha at home.
Join over 1,500 guests who experienced this activity last year and deepen your appreciation for Japanese tea culture.
Begin the session by selecting your favorite kimono from our curated set of easy-to-wear designs. Unlike traditional kimono, which can take 30 minutes to put on, these are specially designed for quick and comfortable dressing—perfect for first-timers.
Once dressed, your tea master will guide you through a cultural lecture that covers:
You’ll use your eyes, nose, and palate to explore various matcha types and learn how to tell real matcha from imitations.
After the lecture, participate in a hands-on matcha-making session using traditional tea ceremony tools. You’ll also learn the etiquette of how to properly drink matcha.
By the end of the experience, you’ll not only understand matcha deeply—you’ll be able to recreate the experience at home.
