The bento, a balanced and beautifully arranged takeaway meal, has been a part of Japanese culture since the Kamakura period (1185–1333). In this 2.5 to 3-hour session, you’ll explore the components that make a typical bento: sushi, miso soup, tempura, and teriyaki chicken.
After a brief introduction, you’ll receive your ingredients, apron, and utensils. Then, follow the instructors step-by-step as they guide you through the preparation process. Along the way, you’ll learn useful cooking techniques, knife skills, and the meaning behind traditional Japanese presentation.
