Shiki Choir Christmas Concert: Featuring Yu Sasaki
The Shiki Choir Christmas Concert welcomes acclaimed organist Yu Sasaki for a special appearance. Sasaki will accompany the choir during the performance. He will also perform a solo piece on the hall’s impressive pipe organ. This gives an exciting combination of voices and organ. The sound can fill the space of the whole venue with warmth and depth. With this performance, both the dedicated fans of classical music and those who are discovering the Japanese choral culture will have a memorable experience.
Shiki Choir Christmas Concert: Discover Kodály’s Pange Lingua
A major highlight of the Shiki Choir Christmas Concert is Zoltán Kodály’s Pange lingua. The sacred work comes from one of the most respected composers of 20th-century Hungarian music. It is not performed live as often as many other classical choral works. That makes this performance particularly appealing to serious music enthusiasts. Kodály’s distinctive harmonies also add a unique character to the Christmas program. His musical style blends sacred traditions with influences from Hungarian folk music.
Shiki Choir Christmas Concert: Experience Osaka Live
The Shiki Choir Christmas Concert is an easy way for foreign visitors to experience Osaka’s classical music scene. The sound of a large choir and pipe organ playing together creates a mood that recordings don’t quite convey. The acoustics at Sumitomo Life Izumi Hall add to the experience. The concert provides a relaxing break from busy sightseeing for visitors in Japan in December. Jasumo helps international guests buy tickets and arranges convenient delivery to hotels. We also offer English support during the booking process.
