Only a few of the 44 sumo stables in Japan allow public access, and this experience is at one of the most respected, located just 14 minutes from Tokyo Station. Your local guide will meet you at Exit B1 of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station, and lead you to the stable.
Take a seat (chairs provided) and watch the wrestlers engage in intense warm-ups, full-contact sparring, and traditional rituals that go back centuries. These massive athletes, known as rikishi, compete in a sport with no weight classes — the power and discipline on display is truly impressive.
After the session, enjoy a short educational presentation about sumo culture, rules, and rankings — including insights that few tourists ever hear. You’ll also have the opportunity to take photos and receive a banzuke, a traditional ranking chart used in official sumo tournaments.
Please arrive on time.
This is a group experience. Guests who are late may not be able to join once the group departs. If you’re delayed, contact the team as soon as possible — they will do their best to accommodate, but the schedule must prioritize the group.
