This tea experience offers a deeper dive into the rich world of Japanese tea culture. Held in a beautifully renovated 120-year-old traditional Japanese house in Nara, this intimate session blends tasting, ceremony, and cultural connection.
Begin by sampling five varieties of Japanese tea, each carefully chosen by a tea master. From delicate cold brews to mellow roasted teas, you’ll explore unique flavors and aromas. After tasting, select your favorite tea and enjoy it freshly brewed in a teapot.
The experience continues with a private tea ceremony. Under the expert guidance of your tea master, you’ll learn about the tools, etiquette, and history of the ritual. Then, try your hand at whisking matcha, taking time to enjoy the calming, meditative nature of the process.
Complement each cup with two types of seasonal wagashi, which highlight and enhance the delicate flavor profiles of the teas.

It was an authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony experience. The host was very sweet and kind. The tea shop is in a 120-year-old Japanese house with a beautiful view of a small garden. 10/10 would recommend.
“The highlight of our trip”
Authentic and engaging. Mike welcomes only four guests into his 125-year-old wooden house overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden. He guides us through the ceremony with all its symbols and rituals. You need to be able to walk to the house and sit still on the floor for about two hours—don’t be in a rush. This was the highlight of our trip, especially for our teenager.
