Start your early morning adventure with a private guide, either from your hotel or Shijō-mae Station, and head straight to Toyosu Market, home to the largest wholesale fish market in the world.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the famous tuna auction—with an option to enter a lottery for a first-floor observation deck view (see important info below). From either the first or second floor, witness the high-stakes bidding war that supplies Japan’s best sushi restaurants.
After the auction, explore the professional seafood market, where vendors also sell Japanese culinary essentials such as matcha, miso, pickles, sake, and handmade knives. Your guide will help you navigate and recommend spots to taste or purchase items.

Public transportation is not available in the early morning. You may need to take a taxi to Toyosu Market. Your guide can meet you at your hotel; taxi fare is not included. Staying in Toyosu, Tsukiji, or Ginza is recommended for convenience.
Tuna Auction Lottery
- The first-floor viewing area requires entry via a lottery system.
- To apply, your tour must be reserved by the 5th of the previous month.
- Even if you don’t win the lottery, you can still observe the auction from the second-floor viewing gallery.
- On the day of the tour, bring your passport or valid ID if you’ve entered the lottery.
