With vibrant parades, period reenactments, historical markets, and hands-on costume experiences, this one-day celebration brings the grandeur of ancient Japan to life.

Event Highlights

The Grand Tenpyō Procession

Witness a breathtaking parade of Emperor Shōmu, Empress Kōmyō, and aristocrats clad in elaborate Tenpyō-era robes, accompanied by gagaku (traditional court music). The parade captures the majesty and formality of the imperial court as it once appeared during the height of Nara’s rule.

Imperial Guards Reenactment (Eji-tai)

Tenpyō Costume Experience
