Contact Jasumo Now →Ukiyo-e, which translates to “pictures of the floating world,” was a major artistic movement in Japan during the 17th–19th centuries. Famous for its depictions of kabuki actors, beautiful women, landscapes, and folklore scenes, ukiyo-e influenced art both in Japan and internationally. This exhibition reinterprets these works with high-intensity projection, animation, and music, creating an engaging blend of history and technology.
The exhibition also celebrates the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation. Original scores by violinist Ryoma and modern digital techniques provide a multisensory experience, offering both education and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
Ukiyo-e RE:BORN 2025-2026 runs from April 26, 2025, to January 18, 2026, at the Kadokawa Musashino Museum.
