The Story
Adapted from the novel by Shin Adachi (published by Kinema Junpo) Come, Spring, Seriously Come! explores the chaotic and deeply emotional life of young people of change and of finding oneself. Adachi is know for his caring writing and detaile character studies in film and book. He mixes events into a story that blends family tension funny awkward moments and a touch of sweet sadness.
This show is a cultural milestone because it is the first stage role and lead role for Katamari Mizukawa, who is best know as one half of the popular comedy duo Kuuki Kaidan (Air Staircase). Mizukawa’s move from comedy performer to serious actor brings a new feel of vulnerability and quick comic timing to the main character.
The ensemble cast features a mix of talent across Japan’s entertainment landscape:
- Asuka Kawadoko, a rising dramatic actress known for her subtle screen roles.
- Renka Iwamoto, a well‑known member of the idol group Nogizaka46 takes on a stage role.
