Full Description

Discover the soul of Kyoto through this guided walking tour combining sacred sites, ancient architecture, and atmospheric streets.

Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine

Begin your tour at one of Japan’s most photographed spots — Fushimi Inari, renowned for its seemingly endless trail of vivid red torii gates weaving through forested hills. Learn about the shrine’s Shinto origins and the fox deities said to inhabit the grounds during a 2.5-hour immersive visit.

Otani Hombyo Temple

After a short train ride, visit Otani Hombyo, an often-overlooked temple with deep historical significance. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and hear lesser-known stories of Kyoto’s Buddhist heritage.

Kiyomizudera Temple

Next, explore Kiyomizudera — “The Pure Water Temple” — famous for its enormous wooden stage overlooking the hillside. Built in 778 and rebuilt many times, the temple features sacred springs, impressive halls, and stunning seasonal scenery.

Higashiyama District

Step into old Kyoto as you wander through the stone-paved streets of Higashiyama. With its preserved architecture, quaint shops, and traditional teahouses, it’s a perfect place to soak in the charm of historic Japan.

Yasaka Pagoda (Hōkan-ji)

Conclude your tour at Hōkan-ji, better known as Yasaka Pagoda. Though typically closed to visitors, this five-story pagoda towering above the skyline provides a spectacular photo backdrop — especially during golden hour.
