The Story: Kroi Japan Zepp Tour
Formed in Tokyo in 2018 Kroi has become one of the exciting and surprising bands in modern Japanese music.
The five‑member group is made up of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Leo Uchida lead guitarist Chiba bassist Masanori Seki, drummer Hideki Hasebe and keyboardist Daiki Nagahashi.
Kroi mixes funk, hip‑hop, R&B, soul and alternative rock together; the name Kroi is taken from the word kuroi meaning black. It shows Kroi’s respect, for Black music traditions while Kroi blends many musical colors into one sound that does not fit into a single category.
Kroi created a first impression on the indie scene with their debut single Suck it and see in 2018. Kroi quickly attracted a following by putting on energetic live shows and by carefully crafting Kroi’s recordings in the studio. Kroi’s big‑label debut, the album LENS, earned praise.
