This immersive walking food tour kicks off near Karasuma Oike Station, where you’ll meet your guide and begin a culinary adventure through Kyoto’s lesser-known (but richly flavorful) side.
Our first taste? A comforting bowl of Katsudon—Kyoto style—before stepping into the bustling Nishiki Market. Known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen,” this market offers a treasure trove of local ingredients and snacks.
From there, we’ll dive into:
- Yuba Tofu – a silky Kyoto specialty
- A surprise Secret Dish
- A curated sake tasting – learn the difference between Ginjo and DaiGinjo
- Freshly made Japanese fishcakes – unlike anything you’ve tried before
- Seasonal fruit Daifuku mochi from one of Kyoto’s oldest artisan stalls
- Seared Wagyu sushi – a street food legend in the Kansai area
After exploring Nishiki, we’ll visit the Tenma Shinto Shrine and stroll along the scenic Kamo River and Pontocho district—Kyoto’s historic dining alley.
