Full Description

Glide into Ine Bay — Japan’s “Venice of the Sea”

Start your journey in Ine, a peaceful fishing village on the Sea of Japan, known for its 230 traditional funaya (boat houses). These unique waterfront homes are still inhabited and used to store boats on the lower floor. Stroll the quiet alleys, sip coffee at a bay-side café, and take in panoramic sea views as you learn about the local lifestyle.

Walk Across the Sky at Amanohashidate

Next, head to Amanohashidate, a sandbar covered with thousands of pine trees stretching across the bay. Considered one of Japan’s top three scenic spots, it offers stunning views from View Land (cable car fare not included). For a fun tradition, view the sandbar upside-down between your legs for good luck. You’ll also explore Chion-ji Temple, Amanohashidate Shrine, and the Isoshimizu Spring, known for its pure water and spiritual cleansing.

Time Travel in Miyama Thatched Village

End the day at Miyama Kayabuki no Sato, a tranquil village of over 40 Edo-era thatched-roof houses. Nestled in Kyoto’s northern mountains, Miyama offers an authentic glimpse into rural Japan. Learn about its architectural heritage, admire traditional interiors, and enjoy local snacks like ice cream at a charming café. The peaceful surroundings make it a perfect photography and cultural stop.

Easy, Comfortable, and Insightful

Your day includes round-trip travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle from Osaka, with stories and guidance from a bilingual tour guide. It’s the perfect escape for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a deeper experience of Kyoto’s hidden gems.
