Note: Due to renovations at Ryuan-ji Temple, all experiences will temporarily be held at Saiko-ji Temple until summer 2025.

Set in the tranquil temple grounds of Saiko-ji (or Ryuan-ji once renovations are complete), this program offers an exclusive opportunity to learn the fundamentals of traditional Japanese swordsmanship. These sacred spaces—usually inaccessible to the public—become your personal training grounds under the guidance of a former grandmaster.

Your experience begins with a guided introduction to the temple and the role of swordsmanship in samurai discipline. From there, you’ll learn basic postures, movements, and cuts with real swords under the supervision of a highly skilled sword master.

The session includes a private sword performance, allowing you to witness the power, control, and precision of a true samurai in action—an inspiring highlight that connects history with living tradition.
