You’ll begin the day with a visit to Nishiki Market, where your guide will help you choose the freshest fish and local ingredients. Watch skilled vendors prepare the seafood and learn about Kyoto’s iconic condiments such as miso and soy sauce.

After the market visit, head to the nearby cooking studio—conveniently located just 10 minutes from Kyoto Station and 5 minutes from Shijo Station. Learn how to prepare vinegar rice, various types of sushi (nigiri, temari, and temaki), and traditional Japanese dashi stock for miso soup. You’ll also make Dashimaki, a sweet rolled omelet.

The experience concludes with dessert and coffee, and you can opt for local beverages like sake or beer for an extra fee. Throughout the experience, a Kyoto expert will offer seasonal sightseeing tips to help you make the most of your trip.
