Full Description

Your experience begins with a warm welcome inside a traditional Japanese setting. Instructors dressed in kimono will guide you through every step, providing cultural background and etiquette insights in clear English.

1. Welcome & Cultural Introduction

Upon arrival, relax in the peaceful ambiance of a tatami room. Your instructor will explain the origins and significance of the tea ceremony, along with its deep ties to Japanese hospitality and mindfulness.

2. Otemae Demonstration

Observe a precise and elegant tea ceremony performance. The host will demonstrate how to use each tool and the proper flow of the ritual while explaining the spiritual and aesthetic aspects that define the ceremony.

3. Hands-On Matcha Making

You’ll then have the chance to prepare your own bowl of matcha using traditional tea tools, including the bamboo whisk and tea bowl. Once prepared, enjoy your creation alongside a hand-selected seasonal wagashi (Japanese confection).
